This rather splendid thrush was obviously looking for building materials He or she decided he or she liked the green string a top the arch The problem was it was still attached to the arch at one end none of the photos really show the ensuing tug of war but the string won ............. repeatedly. So our head strong chap or chapess tried a different approach..... Flying off with the end of the string TWANG Oh well if at first you dont succeed ........... try again And off we go again TWANG He or she is IMO lucky they didnt break their neck, BTW they didnt fly off backwards, they took off facing forwards ie to the right and were yanked round facing to the left when the string snapped taut.

He or she obviously wants to use green string for nesting, so I wondered if you might have considered cutting some up for the bird to use.

You owe him or her a bit of string for the amusement he /she has given you, dont you Sean? Wonderful photos btw, I am never lucky with pics, the subject is gone before the camera is on.

Great pictures Sean. I am 9/10, the same as SL here, when the camera comes out the action stops. Maybe I need a simplier camera! It took me ages to get 'my' blackbird in the bird bath. At this time of the year I always leave small twigs about, alongwith some hair from the dog. If only you had taken a video, you could have sent it into YBF and maybe have got £250. Keith

The witch, I was sort of trying to indicate I had been too dum to think of that it hadnt occurred to me to cut the string. I wasnt questioning your statement. Keith now theres an idea, dont most digitals shoot 'film'?

Well it's green string that the lady wanted and it's THAT string that she was determined to have - she(or he) gave it their best shot bless 'em. Maybe they just like things done the hard way. But leaving a few bits out - they might just settle for the easier option.
