I have a couple of pheasants who like drinking from my pond, and quite a few birds have a good old splash about in the water chutes too.

We have a wildlife pond and several elevated bird bath basins. W e also have three shallow ceramic basins on the ground filled with water. Those ground water sources and the pond are THE most popular, especially with the starlings, doves and cardinals.

Well they like our water garden, and I've recently put out the blackbird bowl - it's a plastic bowl with gravel at the bottom so that it's not too deep. They just love it and have used it already this morning, despite the rain. Like you C3D we've got little dishes all round the garden, but it's the water garden and the black plastic bowl that the birds like best.
They aren't having problems finding worms here today though - with the light rain we've had the worms are popping up and the blackbirds in particular are loving it.
