Had a problem with the magnetic cat flap we fitted just after we moved in I phoned Staywell, the makers of the cat flap explaining how my cats were having big problems getting the flap to work. The nice young man said that he was sorry to hear that my cats were having problems using the cat flap. He said that Staywell would replace the magnetic cat flap for an Infra red one. Goodness I thought they cost a lot of pennies, £50 at least, how generous. ;D Thing is though, my cats have to wear a transmitter on their collars which flashes every 2 minutes, not very brightly, but bright enough to be seen in the dark. I've warned the neighbours BTW ;D

That's excellent, The witch, well done! Our Staywell catflap got wrecked when we first moved here - I had our two cats and next door's bruiser all bombing through it until it gave up the ghost. I don't think that's covered under the guarantee. It doesn't happen any more though - Snowy got so sick of this cat he turned round and faced him. Not long after, it was Snowy chasing the bruiser out of the garden and not v.v. It'll look like you've got some fireflies in the garden.

I love my cats, but I dont love how often they lose their collars and the magnetic key that lets them in through the flap, I fitted the flap and still have to let Trouble in,ATM, till the magnet replacement comes from Staywell.

You can buy the magnets from Pets at Home Sweetleaf. I'm just hoping that the 2 minute flashes don't make my cats loopy lar lar.....

If I can see the flash in the dark then the cats will Sleepy. Not necessarily The witch. Cats see things different to us humans. Have you noticed that cats don't recognise a reflection in a mirror? Also cats have better vision that humans at night, but not necessarily in daylight. They're colour discrimination is likely to be much poorer than ours at both times, although their depth perception is much better. Although they have very good night vision, they also cannot see in total darkness.

Typically I read the thread title as Flapjacks and wondered why it was in the Pets section

Why? I hate them. (Not) I wonder why I can't get obsessed with brown rice or something equally healthy?

because brown rice is boreing and you do make scrummy flapjacks, I know 'cause i've tried 'em. I daren't try making them myself (not that they'd be as nice as yours) but I could easily become addicted! I've got an angel delight thing atm
