Just recently my cats have developed the theory that my lap is the equivalent to being "King of the Castle" I have had to get up sometimes when they are fighting over territory that was ME! Last night was a case in point Trouble found my lap empty and leapt up, Brother was queueing on the back of the sofa watching for his moment, when Stripe turned up, swiped Trouble across the nose causing the poor thing to flee, then jumped up before Brother had a moment to realise what was going on! ATM Trouble has the lap. Stripe is on the desk in front of me, frequently passing in front of the screen, so I cant forget he`s there, and Brother is again on the chair behind me. If I get up none of them go for my chair, they all follow me. I have checked their dishes, all full and all fresh. Someone tell me, whats going on?

I think its also something to do with the cold wet weather sweetie. Usally this time of year you never see my cats, i've had to send sean looking for ziggy a few times in the summer as i hadn't seen him for days. (his food bowl becomes empty at night.) All they want at the mo is somewhere warm and cozy.

Trouble scored the lap Stripe waits for his moment, on the desk, after a minute or two, he lost patience approached Trouble in a friendly way and licked the top of her head aaaaaaah I thought, how sweet...... then he bit her ear and off went Trouble at the speed of light.Lap won, stripe settled in, while I sat there in shock, laughing!

Aren't they great? I think it's rubbish when people say that cats aren't as affectionate as dogs...all my cats are fed by my OH every morning but they know he's not keen on them. It's me they fight over for a space. And my cat Posie ALWAYS climbs on the desk when I put the pooter on and just sits there waiting for a cuddle. Um, Billy cat is asleep beside me on the clean washing and Pumpkin is sitting at my feet stroking her head on my leg......poor old dog has given up and gone to sleep with OH.....

Cats are affectionate and beautiful creatures and I hope always to "own" one or three for the rest of my life

My cats like to sit by my keyboard while Itype, I'll have to get a snap. Are your cats related as their face shape seems the same. Mine are brother and sister but don't look at all aalike and are built differently.

Here's my Pumpkin looking a bit ruffled as I woke her up taking the photo, what a cheek. She's my youngest cat but she's over 10 now..given to me by my dear friend who died last year so a bit precious to me. She's a homebody but has recently been leaving dead baby rats by the back door..there must be loads about !

I used to have a beautiful ginger cat called Syd who had extra toes on all his feet - they were huge. He didn't like it when I had babies and left home for a neighbours house. I had to leave him there where he lived for a great age. I missed him for years....

They are all from the same mum, Stripe was born in the litter before Trouble and Brother, when their mum realised they were going nowhere she left herself..... and Stripe tried to take over with the feeding, he didnt have much success though!

It sounds terrible planning ahead like this, but the next cat I have (when mine have REACHED 109 AND GONE TO THE GREAT SOFA IN THE SKY) I'd like a female and one litter, I think it would be lovely for me and the kids too see. I'd never be without at least 1 cat. ;D Here is a pic of Ziggy and socks, hanging around the pooter as usual! Sorry Ziggy had his eyes closed (think I had the flash on-whoops)
