Friday we had Pancetta with pasta in an Italian cheese sauce; Saturday we had a Chicken curry made by OH, yesterday Roast Pork with all the trimmings and tonight Sweet and Sour pork made with whats left over from yesterdays roast and fried rice. ;D Mmmmm.... I love pancette I fried a little on Saturday, and buried it under grated cheese, diced olives and raw onion, all fused together under the grill on top of halved ciabatta roles Posh bacon pizza.

We had fish stew last night, or Casserole de Poisson, Pollock Pie, Marine Goulash - IS there a nice name for fish stew? It was absolutely gorgeous. Apart from a stock cube, some pepper and some garlic the vegetables and fish provided all the flavours and it went down a treat.

Fisherman's Stew - that sounds a bit better. I would have loved to have come to dinner, cant get my family to eat fish except if it has breadcrumbs and looks a nasty shade of orange!

It's quite well disguised in a stew - all the other colours camouflage it. Do you think it might work?

Last night we had roast beef, yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings. So tonight is cold beef and bubble and squeak cakes, made with sprouts. ;D Followed by Rice Pudding with loads of nutmeg grated on top, yummy. Delicious! I haven't quite decided but I think it'll involve mashed potato, carrots and Savoy cabbage on the side. I think it may be sauages with a pepper sauce, or broad beans in some kind of white sauce. Oh yes, and a parsnip that needs using up. ;D And my son's birthday cake which we didn't have yesterday, on his birthday - too full of party food. :

As usual I've been cutting down as I enter the new year fat as butter. We had fish and chips on Saturday but as that was just about all we had that day I think the occasional treat is OK...
Last night we had quorn and veg stew...it was absolutely delish...all the leftover veg and quorn mince soaked in bovril....no roast dinner this week...until payday
