You wouldn't be impressed with last night's as we had an Open Evening at one of William's prospective new schools and got in late. It was a very freezery affair. I'll tell you when it's worth telling................... But garlic butter drizzled over garlic and coriander naan's - that sounds just too delicious to be legal. -

Pork chops and veg The witch, and as I was in a hurry I fried the chops I chopped an apple that was on the turn and added it to the pan, hopeing to infuse a bit of extra flavour into the pork, but it made no difference, I also make the gravy in the frying pan yum, we love thick gravy in this house, I'm a very stodgey cook i'm afraid, think 1950's national service canteen, all's I need is a gingham tabbard. If I smoked, I cook with a fag hanging out of the corner of my mouth i'm sure!

My mate and I went for a curry last night. And it was one of the best I've ever had! Mango and chicken. Then we went on to play a couple of frames of snooker ;D

I'm afraid I still have nothing to report - we had fish and chips from the chip shop last night, as Tuesdays have just become fish and chip night. The children aren't bothered and I don't want to fill them up with grease if they don't even want it. They don't pay them the same reverence as OH and I do. The girls go to Brownies so all three of them have dinner round their Nan's who lives near Brownies. OH and I can therefore be decadent in private and the F+C were SUBLIME.

I didn't have any tea last night. I made a pasta sauce for OH (toms from the GH too), and smallest had my veggie soup. Watching the pained expression on OH's face as he ate what he felt was yet another sub standard meal put me right off! I am beginning to think my OH must have some strange form of anorexia or something...I have never met an adult with so many issues about food. Or he might just be mad.......

He must be mad if he's turning up his nose at sauce made with fresh tomatoes. It's a much easier explanation! We ended up with just two tomatoes from the two tomato plants my daughter brought home from school - the rest went brown and crusty and patchy. One of the toms is still turning red but the first one to be ready - you should have seen her eating it - it was a picture. Do you think he might have a bad tooth, 4P?

We're having lentil stew tonight - I've got lots of veg to use up and some other bits and bobs besides. Green lentils soaking in a pan, with the veg, herbs and spices - they'll all love it apart from my son who would probably rather eat his socks than go near it.

It's the word 'kebab'- for me it always promises something delicious. I hardly ever have them, and when I get hold of one, with salad, and whatever with chilli sauce, yum. They have a very bad and unfair press, kebabs. Is that what you're really having Sleepy?

No, I'll be having chicken meat that has been cooked on a kebabs spit, and drissled with yoghurt and mint sauce and served with chips and mushy peas.

We're having Lentil Rissoles in rich tomato sauce - on the grounds that OH said it was the best meal I'd ever cooked him last time - this time he may well decide he hates it! We'll have to have garlic and feta salad on the grounds that I haven't anything else knocking about.....

Chortle! That would make me laugh........mind you, he's handy with his fists...he used to be a football hooligan! Wouldn't it be funny if I just stood up in the middle of the meal and smacked him one.....ooh, like the fish slapping in Monty Python, always my very favourite sketch...."I just happen to have a halibut in my left hand hidden under the table" she thought as he picked over his food once too often......" Sorry The witch - going off topic and being silly again....

Friday we had Pancetta with pasta in an Italian cheese sauce; Saturday we had a Chicken curry made by OH, yesterday Roast Pork with all the trimmings and tonight Sweet and Sour pork made with whats left over from yesterdays roast and fried rice. ;D Mmmmm.... I love pancette I fried a little on Saturday, and buried it under grated cheese, diced olives and raw onion, all fused together under the grill on top of halved ciabatta roles
