EVER so easy....I'm not metric btw - sorry!
8 ounces butter 4 ounces sugar 12 ounces medium porridge oats 1 tablespoon of Golden Syrup Pinch of salt (if wanted) Cinnemon
Melt butter and sugar, add golden syrup. Stir in oats and other ingredients. Stir thoroughly. Spoon into a buttered, lined baking tray (about 8 X 10 I think) and sprinkle with cinnemon. Bake for 30 minutes in a medium oven. Remove from oven and press mixture the flat of a wooden spoon. Return to oven for approx 5-10 minutes. Cut into squares immediately but don't remove from the tray until the shortbread has cooled.

Obscene....? All good pure ingredients and extremely good for your soul. PLUS you don't HAVE to eat more than 1 piece at a time........

So Flora Light is a non-starter then? I tend towards real butters with added cholesterol and saturated fats. They have a far better taste ;D

I love getting those little pats of butter with a bread roll when eating out anywhere - somehow it justifies it when it's put in front of you. And of course, you have to use the whole lot - can't be having wasting any. One pat of butter per square inch of roll.

I love to be given a little dish with elegant little butter curls in it, it looks so nice, and of course if they have gone to so much trouble, you have to eat some!

I tell the world would be a better place if flapjacks were made every week by every family..... I'm not a fan of margarine, although I do use it sometimes instead of butter, it's really just an fairly nasty concoction of chemicals.......a little bit of butter instead of a vat of margarine is my preference I'm afraid. But then I was born on a dairy farm

I bet it's STILL better for you than margarine.........I don't care if it's fattening etc - better that than pouring chemicals into you which stay in your body and do all sorts of things (which they will no doubt find out about over the next few years.....)
