As Mrs C is away I had curry Wednesday and kebab from the kebab shop last night.
So..... to give my insides a break (and all of you tomorrow) I'm doing baked salmon with olive oil, lemon, dill and a few chili flakes, new potatoes, whatever nice veg I can find in Tescos (might be difficult) and tomatoes off me bush (if you'll pardon the phrase).
Anybody like to suggest a nice wine to go with that?

Sounds yummy Mick - how about a Semilion Chardonnay Chardonnay? Chardonnay has become sooo passe! Much more interesting is Gewurtztraminer. Although it is available dry, I have a very sweet tooth and prefer the sweet. It has lovely honey, pumpkiny, cinnamony flavours One of the producers is Albert Mann Or, if you are not that adventurous how about Pinot Blanc?

You could try a Piesporter if you don't want too sweet/dry, Mick. Cheers - whatever you choose.

Iron brew? Emsey, I'll speak with you tomorrow.......
Haven't had Piesporter in years. In fact I don't think I've had a German wine since me Dad died and that was 10 years ago (he loved German wines, the cheaper the better).
Chablis? Soave?
I used to play cricket with an Albert Mann. I didn't know he did wines - he told me he was a civil servant.
'fraid I'm the opposite of sweet tooth.

Blackthorn, Taunton's Dry or my personal favourite Scrumpy Jack! Must be very cold though - and a pint at a time is best.........any dry cider really is gorgeous. I haven't had one for over a week cos of the diet....mmmm, sounds like a good idea to me!

ohhh, well I wont rush to try it, the stuff Debi put me onto, brewed in aston was very nice, can't think of the name, but I remember what shelf she got it off in the O.L so I'll be able to find it again. Don't drink at home really as OH is not really a drinker, and I don't like drinking alone. I've got a bottle of aldis irish cream type stuff and that it.

The meal was lovely but I was rather cross that I bought organic spinach from Tesco only to find that half of it was yellow when I got it home - and it was supposed to be on display to 14th, use by the 16th.
I hate Tesco but it is handy.

I hate Tesco but it is handy. That is appalling. I have never bought spinach that has gone yellow! I hope you have complained.

Couldn't be bothered. Couldn't take it back until Sunday at the earliest anyway.
It looked fine in the shop though.
