Can anyone recommend a favourite restaurant? We are quite lucky in Lincoln, we have quite a few to pick from. We have a Nando's, chicken restaurant which is good for a quick and easy meal out. We have some new oriental buffet restaurants too, good value for money. We also have lots of really nice village pubs that do brilliant food and real ales.

We live within hailing distance of about 6,000 restaurants Including Birmingham`s famous Balti belt, I hardly ever visit the same one twice, my favourite Chinese is called Lee Garden and I haven`t worked my way through the menu yet ...but I will

Hum. It depends on where you want this restaurant and what sort of food you like! We used to live in Beckenham where every other shop was a restaurant, and some of them were wonderful. Or in Edinburgh we like Stac Polly. As for London: Bertorelli (Bert O'Reilly's) and Chez Gerrard (Gerry's Place), both on Charlotte Street, are great. Nobu and Wagamamas are also very good if you like Japanese. In Staffordshire we like the Acton Trussell.

I know I sound like Eeyore but I very rarely eat out! I find restaurants quite intimidating so I prefer a really good pub meal - there is an organic pub just outside Norwich which does really amazing food and has a pretty nice look to it too. I've eaten there twice and my fussy, vegetarian OH didn't complain either time! This is unusual......and I hate to be a pleb but you can't beat fish and chips on the coast, preferably on a nice dusky evening watching the sea.

Ever since my health problems, we hardly eat out as well, but the Wiggin Tree in Parbold was a good one, when we lived in the NW. It was connected to a pub, but no way was pub food! Their 'chocolate overdose' desert was to die for! Can't remember what it was called but the restaurant owned by John Conteh, in Crawley served the best Scampi around, when we lived there, but that was a few years ago. Expensive, but great food and service. Keith

Moments later a giant bar of chocolate fell out of the rafters and killed her outright!

We have a new restaurant called Why Not. You get a hot stone and some raw meat and cook it yourself.

Hehehe!! I like the idea of DIY cooking - in theory it should keep the cost of the bill down and it's fun. We used to go to a Mongolian Barbeque, and although you didn't get to actually cook the food, it was a fun experience. Have you been to Why Not yet Noidea?

Went to Why not, it was really good, and it was good value for money, they have a cocktail bar too which was nice. I went to a Korean BBQ restaurant in Japan, the middle of the table was a BBQ, you ordered raw food and cooked it yourself, now and then they would top up your coals and check the flames were still hot.

Ten weeks? Heavens OH and I haven't been out for a meal for at least ten months!!! In fact it's probably more likely to be two years Don't get me wrong we've had some nice meals out but that's always been with friends and/or LP. We haven't had a romantic dinner, just the two of us, for AGES!

Oh! goodness P - and I thought I was being hard done by. : Time you and your OH made more effort to go to a restaurant, the advantage being, unlike when going to friends for dinner you don't have to invite them back. ;D

Hehehe! OH did mention going out for a meal only the other night. I think we should do it properly - send LP off to my mum and dad's for the weekend so not only do we get a night out together, but a lie in the next morning too!!! ;D
if I don't catch you later, I hope you have a lovely evening out. It might be the last for a while what with baby-sitting duty etc!!!

Surley you've been to your local pub The witch for a pint and packet of crisps in the past 10 weeks? That could be classed as a meal out?!?!?! Enjoy your meal tonight, are you going to try some sushi?
