You can't beat fresh lemon juice and a sprinkling of caster suger but if you fancy something different here's a few ideas: Savoury spinach and ricotta pancakes - steam some spinach with nutmeg and black pepper (no water) then add a good spoonful of ricotta cheese. Put a spoonful on the middle of the pancake and top with grated cheese. Prepare in advance then warm in a medium oven for about 15 minutes. Savoury ham and emmenthal pancakes - make a white sauce and add emmenthal cheese when it's thickened. Mix in some chopped ham and spoon into the middle of your pancake. Serve immediately or warm through later. Apple and raisin pancakes - chop up an apple (discard the skin and core) and steam gently with a teaspoon of sugar. Mash if you want it more smooth then add rasins. Spoon onto the pancake and roll up. Banana and honey pancakes - slice a banana lengthways and put in the middle of your pancake. Drizzle with runny honey and roll up before serving. A dolup of cream is nice on this one too Enjoy your pancakes!

When my older girls were little they loved it if I made several pancakes and made a cake with stewed apples in between each pancake - lovely with ice cream ....

They get eaten too quickly to make a cake in our house! Lovely idea though - I might give that a go one day - IF I don't tell that I'm making pancakes ;D

Have you ever seen the film "Uncle Buck"? With John Candy, where he makes MASSIVES pancakes all piled up for breakfast....I shall imagine you making pancakes like that tonight!

Hahahaha! Yes I've seen the film - I won't be making that many though! I have to make them in batches - some for LP's tea (she's having savoury ones first, then pudding ones probably filled with chocolate!) and then I'll do some for OH and I to have as pudding - we'll have ours with lemon juice and sugar - nice and plain!

That's my favourite too - I don't like savoury ones though - dunno why, just don't like the idea I guess!

I just love pancakes and they bring back childhood memories of mum not being able to make them fast enough for three hungry kids, and her and dad! LP is having her's with cheesy sauce, sweetcorn and chicken. She doesn't have a choice though - that's what's for tea ;D

Plain for me to. but I have tried them with pineapple and golden syrup. - Yummy - but it has to be fresh pineapple or pineapple in juice so you get the sweet and tart combo.

Nor do I - it all goes in the dishwasher ;D What a shame that you went to the effort to buy the stuff and they won't eat pancakes. Ungrateful lot ;D
