Why is a magnolia too delicate for your garden Willow - where abouts do you live? I must admit that I'm very pleased with it this year, despite the first flowers getting a bit frosted

Thanks SL - I love them too and have sown loads in the garden this year. The packet says that they will come up this year, so I hope they do. ;D I've also got loads in the front - must be over a 100 - no idea what they are but I can't wait for them to flower.

Try oriental poppies - papiver orientalis. Huge heads on them and they come back eack year as a bigger plant. Normally bought as a plant for around a fiver.

We have had these lovely white flowers every Aug, sine we moved here, I think they smell like jasmine, but not too sure, there don't seem to be as many as we used to get either.

Do they smell most sweetly in the evening Emsey? they could be Phlox, as there is a sweet scent.

It's a bit late now, but you say they don't flower so much now. I was wondering if they need splitting As some flowers like to be split to help them restart. - Only a thought, and I'm sure some one will correct me if I am wrong. A.x

I.m not sure ali as they are in 3 places in the garden but each patch has dwindeled in size to just a few large stems each, maybe they need a feed of some kind? Be in your neck of the woods tomorrow as we are going to the safari park

They look like phlox to me em I have pink and you can split them, I have dug a couple of clumps out but they keep coming back they are lovely but they can look as if they are taking over the garden and the rain spoils them.

I just have a few odd sprigs here and there, they'd look better in a bigger clump, may put them all togher.
