Had our first lot with our dinner yesterday Delicious but I have a confession............
As they have grown to the tops of the canes and entwined, I can't really tell which bean is which variety - I can when the flowers are out but that's not much use is it?

I am reading Frank McCourt's book "'Teacher Man' he wrote two others 'Tis' (which I thought was good) about his early life in Children's Homes in Ireland-and 'Tis Was' about his adolescent years etc. This book 'Teacher's Man' isn't nearly as good as his others. He died last week at the age of 67 so we wont be reading any more Books by him now!
Yes I agree Maggs--Charity Shops shouldn't charge the amount they do for books that are donated-I will only pay about £1 the most in those shops! We do get some good books that the Library sell but by the time I get there the best ones are sold-
Yes I am a member of my Local Library but all the Autobiography Books ( I like these type of books) they stock I have read them all--they dont seem to get any up-dated ones though-
I could ask them to get special books for me but they have a charge for getting them- Just on principle I wont do that! It is also quite difficult for me to get to the Library at the moment.
I think its only about the price of postage Biggs much cheaper than charity books I think!! I managed to buy one for £1 this morning but next door a Meave Binchey I fancied was £3.25!! now that I wont pay even if it is for charity when I give them my books i dont expect them to rob peole like that.

I came face to face with a huuuuuuuuuuuuge female French Bull Mastiff in the vets - I have never seen a mouth that big b 4 and the teeth - <shriek> - it turns out she was a huge softie and wanted a cuddle from me and a sloppy kiss - I fell in love with her after that - but she looked so scary to begin with

My mom came with me to the vets for Hizeys booster today. We bumped into her friend with her Newfoundland in the waiting room, what a truly lovely dog, I could see you with one of those Myrtle, they are like chow, soft and cuddly, but big and manly, so your OH would be happy too. Mom was holding the dog, and the vet popped into a side room for something, Mom let out this bloodcurdling scream!!! 'get it off, get it of meee!!! I thought she'd found a tick or a flea. It turned our it was a wasp, she flicked it a the vet came to see what was going on. There was a wasp, I said You mean that hover fly? She replied The dog had her injection, then the vet started shuffling papers, 'now' she said, I've got a sticker here somewhere' mom and I looked at each other, we were both thinking the same thing! They weren't going to stick a 'good girl' sticker on the dogs fur were they? It was a sticker for her medical card duh
Glad you got on, err, ok at the vets!
Hubby wouldn't care what size dog it was emsey - he plays fetch with the cat and when he calls her she comes running like a little dog!
Well I managed to get Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, but Im a bit dissapointed I dont think , up to now anway that it is as good as the Divinci Code! Im only managing a couplde of pages in bed before I drop off to sleep!!
It takes a couple of chapeter to get going, but tthe whole story runs over one nights events so once it does get going its good. I haven't read any of his other books yet so I can't compare.

I'm always tempted by books at the supermarket, they are good value, if I need to buy one for a present they're good, if its for myself I bide my time, I rarely run of of things to read I'm persevering with one called Missing ATM, I've read a few pages and i'm having trouble psyching my self up, to pick it up again, after steaming my way through the 2 Jodie picoult books. I have trouble abandoning books, ITS A 'MENTAL' thing I just cant give up on a book, I had a book on my bedside table for months once as I couldn't be bothered to pick it up, but wouldn't let myself start a new one! I also try not to read the backs on books either, i want a surprise, I judge books by their cover, quite a lot!
Dont know if theres a thread for these, couldnt find one, these are a couple that Jenny gave me,just starting to bloom,i got a bit too close with the first one,
I have some of these, I swear they came out of a packet of seeds that should have been azalea. They are going great guns in the garden, but could do with staking and I just cant find the time lately.
